People in china have miniatures, war games, fictional settings and so fourth because people are people wherever you go, but based around their own cultural paradigms so they don't tend to make things that work with GW stuff. People like Mantic, Avatars, Puppetswar etc design their own, frequently excellent, miniatures within the paradigm of the GW style and were presumably 'into' the hobby before doing so. Most of the races and factions are based on some part of European history or culture, making them appeal a lot of countries either in Europe or European heritage, but not so much to those that do.

As a serious point though, my guess as to why we don't see many GW style miniatures designed in China, or indeed India, Japan and other large economies outside Europe, North America and Australia is at least partly due to games produced by GW are very culturally European. This puts their product solidly into premium territory, which means they're out of the lucrative, 'why not' range.

Mantic sort of worked this angle, but they set up camp just south of GW's border instead of massively undercutting them. This can of course change over night if you want to try your hand at it, be my guest! The reason why people haven't done it is because they lack the vision. The potential for what you're talking about is monumental. They're craftsmen first, and businessmen second not.

These companies that you're talking about are all started by artesan yahoos with no business sense, comparatively speaking. Why is this the case? Sure this is a niche hobby, but still? But maybe Chinese? But so far the only Chinese miniatures I've heard of are illegal Forgeworld copies. It seems pretty unlikely that company would be European. As the costs associated with this hobby has pretty much skyrocketed over the years, the marked should be screaming for a producer who makes decent miniatures at a much more competitive price. Of all these companies I think four are Polish, one is German and one is Australian.
